The African wild cat is usually an
extremely shy and nocturnal animal and virtually impossible to
photograph or even see in the wild. However, in some national
parks of Southern Africa, you have a much higher chance of seeing
them. Many of my photographs of African wild cats were taken
well into the day when they are usually asleep in their dens. This
was also due to the very cold nights which drew normally nocturnal
animals out during the day. This cat came so close that I was
unable to focus with my camera and had to wait until he had moved away
before getting these shots! He then sat outside the car whilst
cleaning himself.
