Q) Can I only request commissions in size A5, A4, A3?

A) No.  These sizes are stated for simplicity and ease of price reference.  Commission work may be requested smaller or larger than this, although this would affect price (lower or higher respectively).  I want you to be as happy as possible with your finished piece so it is important that you always mention any special requests you may have - no matter how unusual or minor they may sound!  Wildlife art is a passion of mine and there is very little I enjoy more than creating a special piece of art for someone.

Q) How long does a commission take to complete from the time it is ordered?

A) This depends on size.   My work is extremely detailed and I take a great deal of time and effort to build the picture up into something I would be happy to sell or keep for myself.  At least 1 calendar month should be allowed for A5 or A4 but this may be longer if the piece is of a large size (A3 or above).  You will always be given an estimated time of completion before the work begins or you pay any money.  On some occasions, problems may arise. Whilst this is unusual, you will always be notified if your piece is going to take longer than originally stated.  If you are especially desperate for the drawing by a given date then please do mention this at the time of ordering and every effort will be made to have it ready for you.  I have often been called upon for those last minute Birthday and Christmas present ideas!

Q) Can I ask for a piece to be created quicker than the suggested 4-6 weeks if it is urgent?

A) Certainly.  However, any ability to carry out this request would depend on the size and complexity of the piece as well as workloads at that time.  You will, as always, be fully informed before any work begins or you pay any money.

Q) Can I ask for a commission of my pet?

A) Sadly not.  Whilst I used to do work of pets, as well as people, I now concentrate solely on wildlife.  This is mainly due to the fact that it is wildlife which is of greatest interest to me.  I also only like to work from my own photos due to the high level of detail required in my work and I have had a lot of problems getting good enough quality photos to work from in the past.  Of course, if you are particularly desperate for me to complete a commission of a pet then this could always be discussed although, sadly, I cannot guarantee an ability to do this.

Q) Do I get to see the commissioned picture before I have to pay the full amount?

A) Yes.  A digital image will be sent to you via e-mail so you can be sure that you are happy with the finished piece.  If so, it will be immediately posted to you upon receipt of payment.

Q) How much extra do I have to pay for postage?

A)  Nothing for UK residents.  Postage by insured Royal Mail Special Delivery is included in all costs for orignal artwork.  Prints are mailed by first-class Royal Mail.

Q) I'd like a picture of an animal which isn't included in your list on the commissions page.  Can I still request it?

A) Most definitely!  This list is only meant to display animals which I currently have access to my own photographic material.  This is due to the fact that, as a result of the extremely highly detailed style of my work, I will only draw subjects for which I have my own photographic material.  If you would like a drawing of any animal (even an insect!) then please do say so.  Whilst no guarantee can be offered, any request will always be considered. In fact, I particularly like drawing some of our more unusual animals.  So don't be shy to ask for deer and antelope (my own favourites)!

Q) What payment methods do you take?

A) Payment may be made by Cheque or Postal Order or Credit or Debit Card via our secure connection with PayPal.  If you wish to pay by Credit or Debit card and have your order dispatched without extra delay, an e-mail invoice will be sent to you outlining your exact order and the full transaction value which you need to pay.  You need to click on the clearly marked link within this e-mail message.  You are automatically directed to the PayPal website where you may make the transaction over their secure website.  You do not need to have a PayPal account yourself in order to make payment via this process.  This provides you with a protected environment in which to send your card details and PayPal are one of the leading providers on secure, on line card payment facilities.

If you are paying by cheque or postal order then please make the payment to 'ArtvArc Wildlife Art' and your order will be dispatched upon the payment clearing.

Q) How are the orders packaged?

A) It is important that the artwork reaches you in good condition, especially as even the slightest crease or bend can completely ruin the piece.  For this reason, each piece is shipped in a reinforced cardboard sleeve.  The artwork is in a sealed plastic cover for added protection.  Originals are mailed by insured delivery just in case anything should go wrong.  Prints can be mailed with insured postage too but this would incur an additional charge.  Please mention at the time of ordering if you wish to pay extra for insured, rapid delivery.

Q) Are pictures sold framed?

A) No.  The reason for this is because I believe it is very much up to the buyer to decide what type of frame they want.  Different people have different tastes and in my experience people prefer to make framing choices themselves.  This is also why pictures are sold unmounted.  Most frames and framing services include mounts in the cost.  By providing one with the artwork, it might limit the framing choices available to the customer.  I prefer to leave decisions like this up to each customer as everyone is an individual with individual tastes.

Q) Can wildlife photograph prints be purchased?

A) Yes, but only a selection are available for purchase.  If you would like a print of any of the photos displayed in the Wildlife Photography gallery via the 'Photo Gallery' button at the top of this screen then please send an e-mail to enquiries@artvarc.co.uk

Q) What if I need to return an order?

A) Please refer to the Returns page for more detailed information.

Q) What if I decide to cancel an order?

A) Please refer to the Returns page for more detailed information.

Q) Having read this I would really like to order a commission or buy a print or existing original.

A) Excellent!  Proceed to the Commissions or Order Form respectively.  I very much look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you
